King County's returning Dolly Parton book service restores children still under five

Former participants who remain under five will be enrolled again automatically, the Washington programme director told KUOW. New registrations also reopen as a local funding partnership restores service.

King County families returning to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library face an age condition: previously enrolled children are automatically restored only if they are still under five. New children can also enrol, programme director Brooke Fisher-Clark told KUOW in a September 15 report.

The return follows a funding-related interruption lasting more than a year for children in the county. Seattle nonprofit Page Ahead will help pay for the books, KUOW reported. King County Council's September 22 announcement separately confirmed the new partnership and restoration of service.

The county describes a programme that sends books free to families regardless of income. That does not mean delivery restarted everywhere at once: Fisher-Clark told KUOW that Washington counties resumed at different times as funding was secured.

Uncertainty

For local parents, the distinction is between a child's eligibility and a county's operating status. The restoration announcements do not report completed delivery totals.

After Tsuda voice ruling, Japan's actors' union checklist puts AI contracts in focus

Japan's actors' union had already urged performers to check six issues in AI voice contracts, including training, reuse, pay and data storage, before the Tokyo District Court ruled in Kenjiro Tsuda's TikTok case. The court recognized a conditional publicity-rights principle for voices but dismissed the deletion request because the videos were gone; it did not decide that this particular audio infringed his rights.

Beyond Video of the Year, six VMA craft prizes went to five videos

The 2026 MTV VMAs named Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” Video of the Year, but their six professional craft categories told a wider visual story. Direction, art direction, cinematography, editing, choreography and visual effects were spread across five different works. MTV labels these categories non-votable, so their results should not be read as another audience poll or as a sweep by the top-video winner.
