Arkansas links Give Like Dolly Day to county-level support for children's books

The state programme reported monthly book delivery to more than 86,000 children before the September 25 campaign.

Arkansas Imagination Library used Give Like Dolly Day to connect a national cultural tribute with county-level support for children's books. In its September 15 announcement, the organisation said more than 86,000 Arkansas children received a free book by mail each month, with the programme available in all 75 counties.

The September 25 campaign offered several ways to take part. Donors could choose which county to support, while families were encouraged to share reading stories or read aloud with a child. Local partners help raise money for books and postage; eligible Arkansas children younger than five can enrol online.

Interpretation

The figures describe the programme's reported reach before the commemorative day, not the number of new children enrolled or funds raised because of it. The county option makes the appeal locally specific, but measuring the campaign's effect would require results beyond this advance announcement.

After Tsuda voice ruling, Japan's actors' union checklist puts AI contracts in focus

Japan's actors' union had already urged performers to check six issues in AI voice contracts, including training, reuse, pay and data storage, before the Tokyo District Court ruled in Kenjiro Tsuda's TikTok case. The court recognized a conditional publicity-rights principle for voices but dismissed the deletion request because the videos were gone; it did not decide that this particular audio infringed his rights.

Beyond Video of the Year, six VMA craft prizes went to five videos

The 2026 MTV VMAs named Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” Video of the Year, but their six professional craft categories told a wider visual story. Direction, art direction, cinematography, editing, choreography and visual effects were spread across five different works. MTV labels these categories non-votable, so their results should not be read as another audience poll or as a sweep by the top-video winner.
