Control Resonant's Assist Mode lets players adjust individual combat pressures

Remedy describes adjustable aggression, dodge timing and damage, with options to raise or reduce the challenge without blocking achievements.

Control Resonant's release puts a flexible combat menu into focus. Remedy confirmed the game was out on September 24. In an earlier developer post, lead gameplay designer Sergey Mohov explained that Assist Mode targets individual mechanics rather than requiring a single overall difficulty choice.

His September 10 description lists separate adjustments for enemy aggression, dodge timing and incoming damage. Players can switch the mode on or off during play and start from presets before refining settings. The sliders can also increase the challenge, unlike those in the original Control.

Interpretation

Mohov says using these options does not restrict trophies or achievements. That makes the menu relevant both to players easing a particular obstacle and those seeking tougher combat. These are the developer's documented design choices; they do not establish how well every setting works for every player or replace a hands-on assessment.

After Tsuda voice ruling, Japan's actors' union checklist puts AI contracts in focus

Japan's actors' union had already urged performers to check six issues in AI voice contracts, including training, reuse, pay and data storage, before the Tokyo District Court ruled in Kenjiro Tsuda's TikTok case. The court recognized a conditional publicity-rights principle for voices but dismissed the deletion request because the videos were gone; it did not decide that this particular audio infringed his rights.

Beyond Video of the Year, six VMA craft prizes went to five videos

The 2026 MTV VMAs named Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” Video of the Year, but their six professional craft categories told a wider visual story. Direction, art direction, cinematography, editing, choreography and visual effects were spread across five different works. MTV labels these categories non-votable, so their results should not be read as another audience poll or as a sweep by the top-video winner.
