Mexico–Korea cultural pact opens talks on projects for young creators
A signed cultural framework covers music and audiovisual cooperation, while practical opportunities for creators still await project details.

Mexico and South Korea signed a cultural memorandum during President Lee Jae Myung's state visit, opening talks on joint audiovisual work and training for young creators. Mexico's Culture Ministry said the September 24 meeting was led by Claudia Curiel de Icaza and Korean culture minister Chae Hwi-young.
The ministry described possible exchanges in music, screen content, and creative industries. Delegates proposed linking Mexico Canta with Korean approaches to developing musical talent. Curiel also identified copyright protection amid new technology as a shared concern.
The distinction for creators is between a signed framework and projects still being explored. The release gives no application process, production budget or confirmed participant list for the proposed exchanges. Its account supports a new channel for cooperation, not an offer that artists can already apply for. Future calls and project agreements will show how these diplomatic commitments translate into opportunities.
