FC 27 links street games to Pro growth, while Amps remain temporary
EA’s launch documents describe a common progression route through The Grounds, from small-sided games to Clubs. Free Archetype changes and build resets sit alongside temporary boosts, so those systems should not be mistaken for the same kind of player improvement.

EA SPORTS FC 27’s new social space, The Grounds, connects casual street activities with the development of a player’s Pro. For returning Clubs players, the practical change is that a session outside a traditional team match can still contribute to progression. EA’s September 24 introduction describes a shared world for up to 100 players across three districts inspired by the United Kingdom, France and Argentina. That capacity describes the social space, not a single football match.
The publisher lists one-on-one, two-on-two and three-on-three football alongside Rush and Kickabouts, which combine football with activities such as basketball or dodgeball. These formats award Grounds Coins and Archetype XP. EA also says club reputation becomes visible in the surroundings, through supporters wearing kits and changes to clubhouses, stadiums and district banners. Those cosmetic expressions of club identity are distinct from a player’s individual build.
The September 14 launch update explains another distinction: developing an Archetype and activating an Amp are different processes. Standard Amps offer a short trial of an attribute boost, while Signature Amps combine attributes, PlayStyles and special perks for a limited number of matches. At launch, Amps do not provide PlayStyle+. EA says resetting a build costs no Grounds Coins; that statement should not be read as a promise that every boost or reward is permanent.
Objectives provide additional routes to cosmetics, AXP consumables and Grounds Coins, according to the launch update. Limited-time competitions, including Club Tournaments and Playoffs, are described as offering greater rewards. These are the publisher’s stated reward arrangements. The documents do not establish how quickly a particular player will advance or whether a given activity offers the best return for their time.
EA’s September 25 beginner guide places Clubs access at the Clubhouse after the tutorial and a meeting with the Paulo Dybala mentor. Players can create a club, join one or accept an invitation. The same guide says Archetypes are unlocked by default and can be switched without spending Coins or resetting consumables. It separately describes mastery as unlocking lasting attribute improvements across Archetypes. Switching a build, mastering it and using a temporary Amp therefore answer different progression needs.
For players planning an evening with friends, the immediate task is to check the relevant Objectives and decide whether they want club competition, individual development or a short experiment with a build. This account compares EA’s published instructions rather than reporting a hands-on test. It does not assess matchmaking speed, server reliability or the competitive effect of the reward system.
