What KPop Demon Hunters' view totals tell us ahead of its sequel
Netflix's first-film viewing totals have different dates and reporting windows. Its runtime-based measure describes viewing volume, rather than a count of distinct fans or a forecast of the sequel's audience.

Netflix's audience figures for KPop Demon Hunters describe the first film, not a measured audience for its sequel. Its March 12, 2026 sequel announcement cited more than 500 million views since the June 2025 debut. A June 18 anniversary update raised that claim to more than 600 million.
Those dated totals should not be read as a count of distinct fans. Netflix defines views as total hours watched divided by a title's runtime. The calculation measures viewing volume; it does not identify how many distinct people watched or how often each returned.
The reporting window matters too. Netflix's June 2023 methodology update extended its Most Popular chart window to the first 91 days. A cumulative total since release covers a different period, so the two figures are not interchangeable.
The numbers document Netflix's account of the original film's reach. They cannot establish how many viewers will watch the follow-up, which the March announcement confirmed without providing a release date.
