The Last of Us PC sale ends October 1: what the two discounts cover

Naughty Dog says The Last of Us Part I is 50% off and Part II Remastered 33% off on Steam and Epic Games Store until October 1 at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Epic's live listing corroborated those percentages, while regional prices and checkout availability require a local store check.

Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Day sale has a precise cutoff for PC buyers: October 1 at 10 a.m. Pacific daylight time, or 17:00 UTC. The studio says The Last of Us Part I is 50% off and Part II Remastered is 33% off on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Those are discounts on two separate PC products, not a new game release or a permanent repricing. Anyone considering a purchase should check the checkout page in their own store region before the deadline; the announcement gives percentages and a time, not a single price that applies in every currency.

The distinction between the two games matters more than the headline percentage. Part I is the remake of the first game, while Part II Remastered contains the second game's story and the No Return survival mode. Naughty Dog's earlier PC feature briefing describes No Return, Guitar Free Play and developer commentary in Part II Remastered, alongside PC settings such as texture quality, level-of-detail distance and upscaling options. That briefing explains what the PC edition offers, but it does not turn the September 2026 discount into a bundle including both titles. The studio's sale notice lists Part I and Part II separately.

Epic Games Store's franchise-sale listing independently displayed Part I's base game at 50% off and Part II Remastered at 33% off when checked on October 1. It also showed a Part I Digital Deluxe edition and an upgrade add-on at 50% off. The page served prices in New Zealand dollars to this check, demonstrating why a quoted local price would be unreliable for a reader in another market. Edition names, local taxes, account territory and final checkout totals need direct confirmation in the user's storefront. A discount percentage is comparable across regions; an automatically selected currency display is not a verified worldwide price.

Uncertainty

Steam's official franchise-sale page is linked from Naughty Dog's announcement. The public page available to this check did not expose a readable product-price table, so this report does not claim to have independently verified Steam's current individual checkout prices. The developer's published notice is the source for Steam's stated percentages and end time. The Epic listing supplies a separate live cross-check of its own offer. Availability can change, and readers should use the storefront itself for the final transaction rather than treat a report as a price guarantee.

The day also brought profile items, but they should not be confused with game ownership. Naughty Dog announced animated Steam avatars for Part I and Part II and separate PlayStation avatars plus a Welcome Hub background. The PlayStation avatar redemption codes are divided by region, including a distinct Korea code. Those items are part of the celebration; the sale applies to the PC game listings. A profile avatar does not substitute for either game, and the announcement gives no reason to infer that buying a discounted PC copy unlocks a PlayStation download.

Interpretation

Other reports on the same celebration have examined the charity stream, a Ghost of Yōtei armor collaboration and two early-stage projects that could extend the series' canon. This account addresses a different, immediate decision: which PC products are discounted, how the two editions differ, and when the offer is scheduled to end. The primary announcement does not disclose sales volume, a planned extension or any date for the newly discussed story projects. At the time checked, the verifiable conclusion is a temporary offer with published percentages and a firm stated deadline, subject to each storefront's live listing.

The accompanying archival photograph by Zenphia1 shows a Steam Controller with its puck accessory. It illustrates PC gaming hardware generally; it does not show The Last of Us gameplay, either storefront's current listing or the 2026 sale.
