God of War Laufey pre-orders: what Sony has confirmed about bonuses and editions
Sony says God of War Laufey pre-orders open September 29 at 10 a.m. local time ahead of a February 16, 2027 PS5 release. Its announcement distinguishes bonuses for advance purchases from the Digital Deluxe package, and notes that physical Standard Edition buyers receive the bonus through a download code requiring a PlayStation account and internet access.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has put a date on the next purchase decision for God of War fans. Santa Monica Studio says pre-orders for God of War Laufey are scheduled to open on September 29 at 10 a.m. local time, while the PlayStation 5 game itself is due February 16, 2027. The distinction matters: the September date is for ordering, not playing. The official store page still describes the title as announced and gives the February release date, so readers should check their regional store for the live offer rather than assume that every territory has opened sales simultaneously.
The studio separates an advance-purchase bonus from the contents of its Digital Deluxe Edition. Its September 28 announcement says a copy bought before launch comes with the Last Wish Armor Set, a cosmetic Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance and an in-game resource pack. Those items are tied to the timing of a purchase. The announcement does not say that buyers must choose the Deluxe Edition to receive this pre-order bundle, and it should not be confused with the Deluxe package's own list of extras.
The Digital Deluxe Edition lists a different collection: the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Blade, Bow Scales and Catalyst, another in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook and an official digital soundtrack. The studio describes some gear as unlocking through story progression. That caveat means an included digital item is not necessarily usable the moment a new save begins. A prospective buyer comparing editions should separate ownership of an item from when the game makes it available.
A smaller footnote has practical consequences for physical buyers. The studio says the pre-order bonus for a physical Standard Edition comes by download code and requires an internet connection and PlayStation account. A disc buyer therefore should not assume those bonus items are permanently embedded on the disc or accessible without redeeming a code. The announcement does not set out every retailer's code-delivery procedure or a universal price. Those details need confirmation from the actual store or retailer before payment.
For now, the official material confirms a PS5 release and a specific release date, while the PlayStation Store listing identifies Sony Interactive Entertainment as publisher. It presents Faye, also called Laufey, as the playable central figure in a journey through the Everywhen after her death. The September announcement also shows the Serpent Bow and describes two aiming modes, but that gameplay preview is separate from the edition and purchase terms. Neither the blog post nor the store listing is evidence of finished-game performance or a hands-on verdict.
The useful comparison for an English-language buyer is therefore a short checklist: identify the regional pre-order start and local currency price; decide whether the explicitly listed Deluxe digital extras are wanted; confirm how any physical Standard Edition code will be delivered and redeemed; and keep the February 2027 launch date distinct from September's order opening. Sony's published material establishes those announced terms. It does not establish stock at a particular retailer, a final price in every market, or whether future terms will change before launch.
