Claude Opus 5.5 on AWS offers two different integration routes
Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS expose different service experiences.
AWS announced Claude Opus 5.5 availability on September 22 through two routes: Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS. The distinction matters for teams choosing how to connect applications, even when the underlying model is the same.
AWS says Bedrock provides a unified service with managed features such as Guardrails and Knowledge Bases. It describes Claude Platform on AWS as access to Anthropic's native APIs, features and console experience, combined with AWS billing and authentication.
These are different integration choices, not evidence that an existing application can switch without changes. Teams should check the interface and regional availability for their own deployment before treating the launch as universal access.
Anthropic presents Opus 5.5 as a model for coding and knowledge work. This report checks the announced access routes; it does not claim an independent performance test or that every AWS account already has access.
