USC's late drive stalls after comeback wipes out Oregon's ten-point lead
The Trojans gained 446 yards and drew level in the fourth quarter, but a failed midfield drive left them chasing Oregon again as their unbeaten start ended.

USC erased a ten-point second-half deficit against Oregon, yet its last chance to keep pace broke down at midfield. The Trojans tied Saturday's contest at 27 on Tanook Hines' touchdown catch with 12:41 remaining, then lost 41–27 after Oregon scored on its next two possessions.
The decisive interruption came after the Ducks regained the lead. USC's account of the game said three straight incompletions ended the Trojans' drive on downs at midfield. Oregon followed with a touchdown drive that extended the margin to two scores.
Jayden Maiava finished with 326 passing yards and two touchdown passes. USC gained 446 yards overall and recorded 26 first downs, three more than Oregon. Those totals show the offence could move the ball; they did not translate into a fourth-quarter answer after the tying score.
The loss left USC at 4–1 overall and 1–1 in Big Ten play. Washington visits on October 3, giving the Trojans another home conference game after their unbeaten start ended at the Coliseum.
